Artists were invited to create a piece that expressed their thoughts, relationship, experience, or practice in relation to transformative power.

Artists were asked to consider the following as a catalyst for their exploration of the topic:

  • How can feelings of powerlessness be transformed to empowerment?
  • Your power to transform yourself, others, the environment, and society.
  • How is power transferred and transformed?
  • In what ways do women hold power?
  • In what ways do artists hold power?
  • What is the transformational power of art?
  • What role do artists have in transforming their communities?

Artists were additionally invited to submit an optional artist statement and reflection on the theme. Artists statements are linked on individual's pages, where applicable.

All media was welcome, participants were simply asked to use a 12 inch circular base as the foundation of their work.
